Science and comedy: together at last
Welcome to the internest of Ben McKenzie, Melbourne-based actor, scientician, comedian, feminist, improviser, geek, voiceover artist, gamer, presenter, nerd and ginger. ‘One of Melbourne’s Kings of Geek Comedy’ (Chortle AU), Ben writes and performs comedy science lectures as the Man in the Lab Coat, conducts Museum Comedy tours in Melbourne and Sydney, was a member of sketch group The Anarchist Guild Social Committee and is a regular performer at political stand-up room Political Asylum. He is one of the creators of Channel 31 variety show Planet Nerd, though these days you’re most like to catch him as the Dungeon Master at his monthly improvised Dungeons & Dragons show Dungeon Crawl. He also loves games, and is a co-founder of new urban games collective Pop Up Playground and the upcoming games podcast Everybody Play the Game.
His favourite dinosaur is Stegosaurus.
You can find out more on the Who? page, but for Ben’s latest musings, check out the blog or follow him on Twitter (he loves Twitter). There’s also a list of gigs over on the right there. See it? Yeah. Now you know!
